Job Description
United is currently seeking a Summer 2025 Mechanical Engineering Intern who will assist our engineers and designers with plant modifications for mechanical systems serving nuclear power plants. The successful candidate will work with a multi-discipline group of engineers and designers, supporting our Nuclear Engineering Team within the mechanical engineering discipline.

The successful candidate will assist with engineering assignments of limited to moderate complexity including but not limited to preparation of spreadsheets, Bills of Materials (BOMs), calculations, and design drawings using 2D CAD design software.
Minimum Requirements:
The successful candidate will have completed at least 2 years of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a 4 year ABET accredited college or university and would have completed coursework in Heat & Mass Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, and Power Generation.
Experience with graphical design software such as 2D CAD, competency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel, and have excellent oral communication and technical writing skills.
The successful candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or have authorization to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available.
Preferred Requirements:
The preferred candidates will have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA and have experience with:
- AutoDesk AutoCAD
OR
- Bentley MicroStation
