Summary
United Equipment is looking for a Production Technician / Supervisor responsible for various fabrication and assembly tasks associated with the manufacture of replacement aircraft components, as well as providing some job and shop coordination and oversight as required. This is primarily a production position so the qualified candidates must have experience working in a manufacturing environment, and handling general tools and machinery. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, maintains a high standard of quality, and capable of accurately and efficiently handling an assignment with minimal supervision. This position will also support the quality assurance program by performing and documenting ongoing quality checks and final inspections, troubleshooting issues, and driving continuous product and process improvement.
Job Details
- Use hand and power tools (router, table saw, drill press, belt sander, etc.) to cut, route, sand, and otherwise manipulate materials such as acrylic, polycarbonate, fiberglass, aluminum, and plywood
- Program and run a small CNC router to produce production components, forms, and tooling
- Form acrylic and polycarbonate using various forms and low-heat industrial ovens
- Inspect products using digital calipers and check gauges, and prepare associated reports
- Package and palletize products for safe delivery, and per standard commercial or military specifications
Required Experience & Education
- 5 years of fabrication, carpentry, or assembly experience, primarily on detailed products or to strict production requirements and processes
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools including those previously mentioned, as well as inspection equipment such as calipers
- Ability to read and interpret standard fabrication drawings
- Attention to detail and an unwillingness to sacrifice quality
- Professional and courteous when interacting with suppliers, management, and other employees
Preferred Experience
- Project and/or shop management including schedules, personnel, resources, etc.
- CNC equipment operation including familiarity with their programming methodology and g-code
- Previous work with plastic materials and forming methods
- Previous work in an ISO 9001 certified production environment or similar
