SUMMARY
The Order Picker/Lift Driver is responsible for efficiently picking, receiving, moving, and organizing inventory in the warehouse using powered lift equipment. This role ensures accurate order fulfillment, inventory integrity, and compliance with safety standards. The individual will also use inventory management systems and technology to track product movement and maintain stock accuracy.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Order Picking and Fulfillment
- Operates Platform lifts/pickers to retrieve items from racks or shelves.
- Accurately pick products based on customer orders or stock requests, ensuring the correct items and quantities.
- Prepare orders for shipping or transfer, including proper packaging and labeling.
- Scan, track and update inventory records using barcode scanners or warehouse management software.
- Report inventory discrepancies or damaged items to management.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines when operating powered lift equipment.
- Perform routine inspections of lift equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety protocols.
- Arrange and organize stock in the warehouse to optimize space and accessibility.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas, including shelves, racks and staging zones.
- Assist with receiving shipments, unloading trucks, and placing items in designated storage areas.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues with inventory systems and escalate more complex problems to the supervisor.
- Collaborate with the warehouse and logistics teams to meet order deadlines and operational goals.
- Assist in training new staff on equipment operation and order-picking procedures.
- Support other warehouse tasks, such as packing, loading, or special projects, as required
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid certification or license to operate forklifts and other powered lift equipment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1. High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
2. Previous warehouse or distribution experience is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Ability to stand, walk and operate equipment for extended periods.
2. Move heavy items up to 250 lbs. with or without assistance safely and efficiently.
3. Ability to work at heights while using order pickers or similar equipment.
