Job Summary:
The Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager is responsible for proactive management of a commercial loan portfolio and related commercial deposit accounts along with delivering superior client services to retain and grow the portfolio. Ongoing credit monitoring and risk rating management will be essential to mitigate risk consistent with the Lending Policy. The Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager will report to the VP, Credit Manager, and assist in underwriting and portfolio management of the Multifamily, real estate, and C&I lending portfolios. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, managing competing, ever-changing priorities while maintaining accurate and timely deliverables.
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the underwriting and portfolio management activities on loans assigned.
- Communicate with clients to obtain information necessary to manage the loan relationship.
- Analyze clients’ financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
- Handle client complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Prepare reports to send to clients whose accounts are delinquent, and forward irreconcilable accounts for collector action.
- Contact clients or creditors to resolve questions about applications or to assist with completion of paperwork.
- Contact clients with delinquent accounts to obtain payment in full or to negotiate repayment plans.
- Match individuals' needs and eligibility with available financial aid programs to provide informed recommendations.
- Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet clients’ needs.
- Review loan documentation to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy.
- Review and update credit and loan files.
- Authorize or sign mail collection letters.
- Calculate amount of debt and funds available to plan methods of payoff and to estimate time for debt liquidation.
- Maintain and review account records, updating and recategorizing them according to status changes.
- Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
- Maintain knowledge of banking related federal, state, and local laws and statues and regulations.
- Review billing for accuracy.
- Perform duties related to the Bank Secrecy Act under the guidance of the BSA Officer.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required, in accounting preferred.
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a like position.
- Advanced level of commercial underwriting experienced required including Multifamily housing.
- Sageworks or other spreading software experience required.
- Fiserv core products, preferred.
Physical Requirements of Essential Job Functions:
The associate is frequently required to sit and/or stand, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools or controls that are typical of an office/bank environment. Lifting items weighting up to 10 pounds on a consistent basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 80% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, etc.
Working Conditions:
- Regular working hours: Monday – Friday from 8a.m. to 5p.m. Based on the nature of the duties being performed, there may be hours that fall outside of the defined regular ones. Weekends included.
- Travel to customer business will be required should business needs dictate.
- Extended viewing of computer screens.
