The Director of Finance will play a critical leadership role within a high-growth, private equity-backed portfolio company. This individual will be responsible for supporting the financial strategy, managing complex financial analysis and reporting, and supporting the company through an exit/sell process.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience working within private equity environments, including deep familiarity with value creation, financial modeling, data analysis, and operational finance. The role demands an exceptional ability to manage financial and operational reporting, planning and driving value creation, and comprehensive due diligence to support key stakeholders in an exit/sell process.

What you will do:

• Financial Strategy & Planning: Lead the development and execution of financial strategies aligned with the company's short-term and long-term goals
• Sell-Side Process Management: Manage and support the preparation for a potential sale, including financial modeling, due diligence processes, and interaction with external stakeholders
• Private Equity Partnership: Support the CFO in acting as financial liaison between the company and private equity investors, ensuring transparency, timely reporting, and alignment on key financial metrics
• Financial Analysis & Reporting: Support in the development and maintaining of financial models, forecasts, and performance dashboards to provide actionable insights to the executive team, business leaders and private equity investors. Ensure accurate, timely reporting of results
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process, monthly forecasts, and long-term financial projections, ensuring alignment with company goals and market conditions
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize financial data and analytics to influence and drive key business decisions. Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, and other departments to identify opportunities for increased profitability and value creation
• Team Leadership: Work closely and be a strong mentor of a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial discipline
  
  
  
  
  

Background/ Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred
• 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role
• Private Equity Experience: Proven experience working within private equity-backed portfolio companies, with a strong understanding of investor expectations and reporting requirements
• Exit/Sell Process Expertise: Demonstrated experience leading a company through a successful exit or sale process, including managing due diligence, financial modeling, and preparation of financial materials
• Experience in Investment Banking/M&A: Experience in investment banking, M&A environment
• Financial Analytical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and the use of financial software (e.g., Excel, ERP systems, etc.)
• Understanding of GAAP
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail
