Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for reading process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, setup, and operating needs. You will also be responsible for mounting workpieces between centers, in chucks, or to faceplates, manually or using hoists, and installing preset tooling in tool posts, turrets, or indexing heads.
Additional duties include depressing buttons, toggling, and starting machining operations, observing numerical displays on control panels, and comparing them with data on process sheets to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts.
You will also be responsible for inspecting first-run pieces and spot-checking succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications, using micrometers and precision dial gauges.
