Under the direction of an anesthesia provider, assists with anesthesia equipment setup and maintenance, supply and equipment ordering and restocking, and ensuring rooms are prepared properly for anesthesia. Additional responsibilities include answering phone, work closely with the clinical team, medical providers and hospital staff to provide care for our patients timely.Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year experience in a patient care area
Preferred:
- Previous Operating Room experience
- Previous Surgical Technologist experience
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
- CPR Certification within 3 months of hire
Preferred:
- National certification as a Certified Anesthesia Technician (CerAT)
Work Environment
- Must be able to lift minimum of 50lbs
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Required to wear appropriate PPE. Hospital issued scrubs, head bonnet, beard cover, gloves, shoe covers.
- Exposure to bodily fluids and other related blood biohazardous gross substances
- Include contact, fluid and airborne infections
- Exposure to loud equipment noise.
- Speak fluently with nurses, surgeons, and other peri-operative personnel
HIPAA Roles-Based Access to Patient Information
- Coded – Access to diagnosis codes/service codes/billing information – Level 2
- Access to view Epic Perioperative Schedule to anticipate instrument and anesthesia needs
