Overview
Under direction, assists the Gastroenterologist in the procedure rooms and anticipates their needs. Participates in patient care and safety, reprocesses endoscopes, utilizes GI supplies conservatively, and operates as a team member of the GI Staff. May maintain, document, and distribute clean and sterile products per established infection control standards.

Education/Experience
- Minimum Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred:
- GI Technical Specialist (GTS) online course completion through the Society of Gastrointestinal Assistants (SGNA)
- Previous patient care experience
- Minimum Required:
- Certification as a flexible endoscope reprocessor through CBSPD or IAHCSMM within 18 months of hire
- Preferred:
- CPR Certification
- Current NYS Practical Nurse License or Permit
