What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Nurse Intern position at United Hospital System?
POSITION PURPOSE
- Under the direction of the R.N., the Student Nurse Intern (S.N.I.) is responsible for the receiving of patients, preparing the patients to be seen by the provider, and assisting the provider as requested in the delivery of care to the patient. The S.N.I. works with patients and is knowledgeable regarding the clinic's patient education program and provides educational materials to the patient when appropriate.

- Enrolled in an accredited nursing program
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
- Has completed one semester in an accredited nursing program
SUPERVISES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
- The ability to read, write, speak, hear and comprehend the English language
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Demonstrates competency with specific clinical skills and techniques that are listed in the department competency skills check list
- Performs rooming tasks at the time of patient appointment
