As the Agency Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee the overall operations of the branch office(s) you have been assigned to, with a focus on creating, developing, and maintaining a positive office culture that is conducive with United Insurance’s core values. You will be responsible for developing and then executing a vision for your Agency that is not only in line with the marketplace you oversee but runs concurrently with the overarching strategic vision set by Senior Management. The Agency Manager ensures that all insurance agents are acting in the best interest of both the insurance agency and their respective clients. You will manage this by assessing the effectiveness of employees and implement key performance goals, such as increased sales, better customer service, or the introduction of new products. As the Agency Manager, you will function as a part of a team of managers and Agencies throughout the organization working towards enhancement of the team environment as well as a collective push for growth and overall success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Manage overall operations in an insurance setting.
- Maintain a Team focused environment not only in your Agency but in the Company as a whole.
- Be visible and active in the local community and function a primary Agency liaison with United insurance’s Community Engagement Department.
- Ensure the safety of the physical plant as well as ensuring all staff workplaces comply with United Insurance’s ergonomic workspace standards.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with Local Community Centers of Influence as well as Carrier Management and Marketing teams.
- Ensure that all contributions from insurance carriers / brokers, appraisers, claims investigators, and other employees help to contribute to the shared vision and to the long-term success of the agency.
- Properly train and motivate your team.
- Provide daily feedback and encouragement to all team members as well as follow up when needed.
- Suggest policies that allow your insurance agency to function as a cohesive unit.
- Review office(s) performance to identify areas where individual employees and entire departments can improve their efficiency.
- Connect specifically with insurance agents to ensure that employees communicating personally with policyholders represent the company in the best light.
- Identifying and minimizing threats as part of ongoing risk management responsibilities.
- Manage collected data and create user-friendly reports that can help executives identify company progress, regression, and any fluctuations in output.
- Continually review insurance policies to confirm that policyholder needs are best addressed.
- Control office(s) finances to maintain correct budget allocations to all departments.
- Prospect for business based on your local networks and community connections.
- Follow-up with clients after initial meetings and conversations if applicable.
- Develop clients and work to extend client relationship to other products and services offered by United Insurance.
- Maximize growth and retention through superior customer service.
- Assist your team(s) with proposals and presentation to clients.
- Assist Account Managers with pre-underwriting, information gathering, and coverage analysis as needed.
- Maintain a professional connection among clients, the agency, and carriers.
- Participate in continuing education programs in both insurance and sales.
- Travel as needed.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
