Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Reverse Mortgage Processor with experience in both HECM and proprietary reverse mortgage loans. The ideal candidate will manage the loan process from document gathering and pre-review to underwriting approval and closing, ensuring all documents meet regulatory and client requirements. This role is crucial in facilitating a smooth loan processing journey for our clients and maintaining excellent communication with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Gather initial loan file documents and conduct a thorough pre-review to ensure all borrower qualification documents are complete and accurately entered into Loan Origination System (LOS).
- Manage entire loan process from application submission through closing.
- Communicate proactively and professionally with loan officers, borrowers, underwriters, closers, AMCs, and title companies to ensure timely progress and document delivery.
- Review, upload, organize, and label all file documentation in the loan imaging system.
- Analyze critical financial documents, including credit reports, income verification, tax returns, asset documents, and payment history.
- Clear loan conditions to achieve final loan approval in compliance with underwriting guidelines.
- Perform a final review of loan data prior to submission to the closing department, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain confidentiality of client records, adhering strictly to privacy standards.
- Handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet competing deadlines.
- Demonstrate professionalism and effective collaboration within the team and across departments.
- Provide strong customer service, ensuring a positive experience for both internal and external clients.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in FHA processing with a strong preference for reverse mortgage experience.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of regulatory compliance in mortgage lending, including TILA, RESPA, Reg B, Reg C, and other relevant guidelines.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in exercising independent judgment and problem-solving skills to handle complex situations effectively.
- Organizational Abilities: Strong attention to detail with the capability to prioritize and manage a pipeline of 25-30 loans.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using Word, Excel, Outlook, and other relevant reverse mortgage software.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, ensuring professional interactions with all clients and team members.
