Safety
POSITION SCOPE
Reporting directly to the EHS Manager North America. The EHS Coordinator is accountable for executing activities required to meet each sites safety and environmental responsibilities. This action-oriented role will own local area EHS tasks, so they are given more emphasis, focus and attention. The EHS Coordinator will support Plant, Corporate and Regulatory Stakeholders to develop and deliver annual EHS objectives while completing critical actions to drive EHS initiatives forward.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Management of electronic EcoOnline Reporting System for both sites - liaising with site teams to ensure entries are completed correctly and actions close out is timely.Facilitates and supports supervisors in conducting and following up on EHS investigations and corrective actions.Primarily responsible for documentation, reporting and monitoring of actions taken by supervisors and employees to address risks identified.Ensure monthly safety checks are completed, and follow-ups assigned.Ensure timely completion of Vancouver and Pocatello regulatory EHS reporting.Administrative resource to support local and corporate teams to ensure EHS audit programs are completed, and follow-up task are assigned and tracked for closure.Maintain Job Safety Health Assessments.Accountable for the compliance training for plant employees (monitor, organize, plan and track).Accountable for maintaining safety and environmental plant documentation.Accountable for monitoring critical EHS related equipment.Attend site's Safety Committee meetings with management helping to support and facilitate meetings (e.g. : meeting agenda, minutes and action follow-ups).Prepares regular EHS toolbox talks to enable plant supervisors to effectively conduct toolbox talks with their employees.Collect environment samples as required.Assess essential EHS trends in process equipment; download data from plant monitoring systems (i.e. PLC Factory link and data loggers, Effluent and pH monitoring etcPrepare standard operating procedures and assess procedures to ensure Safety and Environment risk are considered and mitigated.Monitor workers for personal protective equipment.Where required, maintain adequate personal protective equipment supplies.Accountable for EHS components of New Employee orientations.Where required, provide EHS components of 3rd Party contractor orientations.Update the Safety, Effluent, Storm water, Organic, SWCAA files to ensure compliance with the Site's various permits. This includes conducting ongoing measurements, sampling, recording of permit sensitive matters associated with the Vancouver site. Flag noncompliance to stakeholders and track corrective actions.Security support for Vancouver site. This includes being a point of contact between GWM and POV and other external emergency services, participation in auditing site security, education and related communication. During any environmental or safety incident senior plant management personnel will be the primary Company representatives.Serve at main point of contact with regulatory agencies, state and local.SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of and commitment to general safety and environmental procedures in manufacturing environments.Previous experience in EHS operational role (Floor vs. Technical).Strong verbal, written communication skills. Ability to comfortably speak in front of groups.The ability to resolve issues effectively via communication and consultation with supervisors and co-workers.Must be proficient in the use of a computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Ability to learn new software is essential.Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Ability to see a problem and proactively identify potential solutions.Knowledge of HACCP or an ISO program is preferred.Malting or brewing experience is a plus.Knowledge of air, water and other environmental permits is a plus.Ability to obtain a TWIC card and travel up to 25% (Washington, Idaho).EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
30 hr OSHA training as a minimumTAPRoot or equivalent incident investigator trainingISO Internal Auditor training (ISO14001 and ISO45001)Multisite EHS supervision strongly preferred.College education preferred.Experience leading EHS training.Minimum 4 years of EHS Coordinator experience required.2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.COMPENSATION
