Under the supervision and direction of the assigned Charge Nurse and Clinical Nursing Coordinator in coordination with the medical providers, assists in providing patient care in the area(s) assigned in accordance with established philosophy, policies and procedures. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must be able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent or geriatric patients. Assists in the provision of health education and disease prevention services in the community as needed or required. Must be EHR proficient. Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting the Medical Center, such as state / federal regulations, TJC standards and compliance standards. Requirements : Education :
1. High school graduate or GED equivalent.
2. Graduate from an accredited vocational training program for Certified Nurse Assistant.
Experience / Training :
1. Must have a current CPR certification
2. Prior experience in various nursing areas preferred
3. Prior experience in patient education primarily in diabetes, hypertension, cardiac, pediatrics, immunizations and other health related education programs preferred
