Description
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Dermatology department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, patient-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting. The Medical Assistant will support physicians and patients by performing clinical and administrative duties, ensuring the highest quality of care.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Preparation:
- Greet and prepare patients for examinations, ensuring they are comfortable.
- Take and document vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, temperature).
- Review patient medical history and document symptoms or concerns.
- Assist with minor dermatologic procedures such as skin biopsies, cryotherapy, and excisions.
- Prepare and sterilize equipment and supplies for procedures.
- Handle scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following safety protocols
- Assist in Dermatologic Procedures:
- Provide support during patient treatments (e.g., laser therapies, phototherapy, acne treatments).
- Apply dressings, bandages, or ointments as instructed by the dermatologist.
- Prepare and maintain patient records in the EMR system
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
- Previous experience in Dermatology or a similar specialty is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR)
