St. Paul’s UMC (Bay Head, NJ) is seeking a dedicated Praise Team Leader to guide our congregation in worship through music, song, and lyrics. This is a part-time position requiring a commitment of 4-6 hours per week.
Job Summary
- Lead the congregation in worship during church services by singing and/or playing a musical instrument.
- Select, prepare, perform, and communicate all music selections, including hymns, contemporary worship music, and singer accompaniments, as directed by the Pastor.
- Direct and coordinate weekly rehearsals with the Worship Team to prepare for worship services.
- Ensure that the altar, sound system, video system, and worship presentation software are properly working and ready for worship service.
- Knowledge of “Easy Worship” software, “Song Select” for music selection, and CCLI protocol is a plus.
- Work with laity and the Pastor to ensure smooth transitions within each service.
Qualifications
- A strong Christian faith and a desire to use your gifts in ministry.
- Ability to sing and lead a praise band and congregation in worshipping God through music.
- Proficiency in giving vocal and instrumental direction.
- Skilled in reading music, singing hymns and contemporary Christian music, and/or playing a musical instrument as part of a worship praise band.
- Experience with the use of technology in worship, such as sound systems, worship software, and video projection.
Compensation
- Pay varies on experience: $100 – $150 per week
