United Methodist Communities is currently seeking an Exercise Physiologist for our Pitman Community.
United Methodist Communities in Gloucester County, a senior community in Pitman New Jersey, is truly integrated into the life of the town. We are part of a beautiful residential neighborhood, near to highways and public transportation with easy access to both Philadelphia as well as the Jersey Shore.
The Exercise Physiologist assesses, plans, and implements fitness programs to improve cardiorespiratory function, body composition, muscular strength, muscular endurance, or flexibility.
Requirements for an Exercise Physiologist:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities for an Exercise Physiologist:
- Conducts stress tests, using electrocardiograph (EKG) machines.
- Demonstrates correct use of exercise equipment or performance of exercise routines.
- Develops exercise programs to improve participant strength, flexibility, endurance, or circulatory functioning, in accordance with exercise science standards, regulatory requirements, and credentialing requirements.
- Explains exercise program or physiological testing procedures to participants.
- Interprets exercise program participant data to evaluate progress or identify needed program changes.
- Measures the amount of body fat, oxygen consumption, or lung functioning.
- Provides clinical oversight of exercise for participants at all risk levels.
- Recommends methods to increase lifestyle physical activity.
- Calibrates exercise or testing equipment.
- Teaches group exercise for low, medium, or high-risk clients to improve participant strength, flexibility, endurance and balance functioning.
- Complies with professional, ethical and legal standards.
