What will I do as a Nursing Operations and Support Coordinator?
- Oversee the ordering, tracking and distribution of nursing and therapy supplies to ensure staff have the necessary resources to provide excellent care This includes keeping appropriate par levels for supplies and maintaining live inventory (i.e. bed/chair alarms)
- Input work order for plant operations when necessary to get items repaired or replaces timely upon identified issue.
- Research and identify vendors offering the best pricing and quality for medical supplies, ensuring cost effective purchasing while maintaining high standards of care.
- Assist with interviewing certified nurse aides by utilizing a scripted interviewing procedure when needed.
- Schedule and conduct interviews for nurse aides and follow new aides through onboarding effectively.
- Work with nursing leadership to implement and track Mentor Program strategies for new nursing staff, providing ongoing support and resources such as tracking mentee to ensure completeness.
- Ensure mentors have a clear understanding of expectations that creates a cohesive environment for both mentor and mentee.
- Track and manage the nursing mentorship program, ensuring mentors and mentees are properly paired an supported throughout the process.
- Schedule an coordinate transportation services for patients, ensuring timely and safe travel for medical appointments, tests and other healthcare needs to ensure seamless care.
- Work closely with nursing managers, supervisors, and other healthcare staff to maintain efficient operations and provide ongoing support for clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate records related to nursing supplies, appointments, transportation mentor tracking and recruitment activities.
- Initiating all capital expenditure projects for nursing and therapy departments.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives and retention efforts.
Nursing Operations and Support Coordinator Requirements:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a Certified Nurse Aide.
- Previous experience in skilled nursing or long term care environment.
