Activity Leader

United Methodist Homes is seeking a dedicated Activities Leader to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for our residents in a long-term care setting at our Binghamton location.

Responsibilities: - Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities for residents in a nursing home or memory care facility

- Develop and implement activity programs that cater to the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents

- Coordinate events, outings, and group activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation

- Manage schedules effectively to ensure all planned activities run smoothly - Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to understand individual needs and preferences

- Provide support and care to residents during activities while promoting independence

- Offer aging issues counseling and support as needed

Qualifications: - Previous experience in long-term care, caregiving, or recreational therapy preferred

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and plan events effectively

- Knowledge of event planning and recreational activities suitable for elderly populations

- Excellent communication skills to interact compassionately with residents and their families

- Understanding of aging issues and the ability to provide appropriate support and care

Pay: $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 20.00 per week
