What are the responsibilities and job description for the Med Tech - Full-time, 3rd shift position at United Methodist Retirement Communities?
Hours | Schedule: 35 hours/week, 3rd shift | 6:30pm-6:45am (12-hour shift)
Scheduled Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon (4 days on, 3 days off) | Every other weekend
Location | Department: Porter Hills Village | Assisted Living
Overview:
The Med Tech administers medications and treatments to residents as well as provides daily living support to residents as needed.
What you’ll do
- Passes medications and gives treatments.
- Obtains and records resident vital signs, weight, food, and fluid intake and output.
- Assists new residents and families in the orientation process.
- Assists all residents with activities of daily living, as needed.
- Assists residents in preparing for activities, social programs, and transporting.
- Interacts with residents in friendly manner while structuring their day and monitoring their needs.
- Maintains accurate documentation in resident’s charts and in the Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR).
- Assists residents with medications and treatments.
- Assists with meal service
What it takes
- Experience as a Med Tech and/or in healthcare preferred
- Must be 18 years of age
- Computer experience
- Knowledge of the appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population.
- Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to a minimum of 50 lbs.
