ORGANIST/PIANIST JOB DESCRIPTION
Role of Organist/Pianist is to provide music for worship services and to accompany the choir.
The responsibilities of the Organist/Pianist shall be:
1. Play for weekly choir rehearsals, Sunday worship service, and special services named below.
2. Play for additional rehearsals and additional services such as
Seasonal Concerts - Christmas, Easter, Christmas Eve, Blue Christmas, all Holy Week services, funerals, and other additional special services.
3. Attend Worship Committee meetings and Staff meetings.
4. When requested, have first option to play for all weddings and funerals held in the church. The policies for payment of these services must be read and understood by the Organist/Pianist.
5. Supply a substitute when Organist/Pianist absence is needed.
6. On Sundays, the Organist/Pianist shall play a prelude and postlude as well as accompany the choir with an introit, anthem, choral benediction, and congregational hymns.
The Organist/Pianist will be supervised by the Music Director.
