General Purpose of Job Position :
The primary purpose of the job position is to assist the residential delegating nurse case managers that delegate medical authority to CMTs in accordance with Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern this facility.

Report individual / family complaints / concerns to Administrator.
Essential Job Functions :
Monitor activities, appointments, communicate policies, follow up with tasks to direct care staff as appropriate to their level of knowledge, skills and abilities, offering support and guidance accordingly and provide feedback to the nursing department.
Follow up with local medical offices to ensure medical records are obtained and all care orders are followed and referrals completed
Assist with new patient paperwork
Assist in developing policies and training programs to improve the quality of care provided to the individuals supported
Maintain training records Certified Medication Technicians
Regularly inspect the residences and involvement of the Direct Support Professionals in compliance with federal, state and local standards and regulations.
Developing, and maintaining nursing service objectives, standards of nursing practice, scheduling of rounds to see all individuals, methods for coordination of nursing services with other individual services to promote continuity of care within the Care Team.
Understand, comply with and promote all rules and regulations regarding individual’s rights; promote positive relationship with residents, visitors, regulators, and coworkers to include presenting a professional appearance.
Ensure medication administration is as ordered in accordance with nursing standards and facility policies.
Works in conjunction with other disciplinary team members to ensure the quality of care by attending Interdisciplinary Meetings (PCP’s).
Defines and oversees the orientation, education and training of the personnel providing direct individual care as needed.
Provide positive representation of UNA when in the community.
Comply with other duties as assigned or needed.
Schedules training and monitors implementation of nursing care plans as directed by the delegating nurse case manager.
Monitor compliance with nursing standards for clients which shall include Initial Nurse Assessment (within 72 hours of admission), Nursing Diagnosis, Care plan and minimum 45-day nurse review. Follow up and care plan revisions will be completed when clinically indicated, quarterly or at the Nurse’s discretion.

Requirements : Qualifications :
Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing and currently licensed by the state of Maryland or a State with reciprocity.
Previous DDA nursing experience preferred.
Must be able to relate positively to individuals, families, and government regulators, and to work cooperatively with other associates at all levels.
Must have experience in effective leadership.
Must possess basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel and various online data systems
Must meet all local health regulations and pass background check, fingerprinting, and pre-employment physical exam, if required. This requirement also includes drug screening and reference inquiry.
Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Knowledge of current and established professional nursing concepts, principles and practices.
Knowledge and understanding of Continuous Quality Improvement and skills to develop and implement nursing standards of practice.
Ability to motivate others to improve services.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to understand and apply training and in-service education, ability to instruct personnel during training, education and staff meetings, and ability to remain calm in emergency situations and when handling multiple tasks.
Must be able to relate to and work with the physically / intellectually / psychiatrically impaired individual as well as the elderly, and at times, hostile / aggressive individuals within the facility.
