What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Program Support Staff position at United Neighborhood Centers NEPA?
Work Hours are: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm – Monday through Friday
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Youth Program Manager, the Youth Program Support Staff is responsible for the safe transportation of youth program participants while ensuring the agency vehicle remains clean, well-maintained, and compliant with all safety regulations.
This position will provide additional support to the Youth Program as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of safe, reliable transportation for youth program participants with agency vehicle.
- Safely operate the agency vehicle in compliance with state laws and agency policies.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of youth participants during transportation.
- Maintain order and discipline among passengers, fostering a positive environment.
- Accurately log mileage, fuel use, and any maintenance needs as required by agency procedures.
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle according to state regulations and agency policies and procedures.
- Keep the vehicle stocked with necessary emergency items, including a first aid kit and fire extinguisher.
- Assist in preparing and distributing snacks for program participants.
- Provide supervision to youth before and after transportation, ensuring their safety and engagement.
- Support program staff with light setup, organization, and other tasks as needed.
- Foster a welcoming and structured environment that promotes respect and positive behavior.
- Supervising youth program participants.
- All duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Licensure:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must pass a background check and meet all agency requirements for working with youth.
- Experience working with youth/children is preferred.
