JOB TITLE: Production Manager
UNA LOCATIONS: Floating; must be able to travel to all 4 UNA facilities in NE Ohio

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR(S): Regional Director
SUMMARY: Provide management for the production function for a facility. Plans and organizes all production work in an efficient and effective manner; establishes production schedules to meet customer needs and to maximize the use of employees and consumers. Operates in a supportive and positive manner that will enhance and promote skill development and maximum independence for individuals with developmental disabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Directs and coordinates activities of assigned worksites in order to provide employment opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Provides for the effective and efficient utilization of facilities, equipment, staff and consumers for the provision of a wide variety of operations and services at the lowest possible cost consistent with customer specifications
- Works in conjunction with Program Director to ensure facility coverage in the absence of that production manager.
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, and follow-up of assigned contracts and services
- Supervises the set up and production of contract work
- Maintains production records as required. Orders materials and supplies as needed. Maintains inventory control as needed
- Oversees and maintains customer satisfaction through proper scheduling, inventory control, and meeting quality control standards
- Coordinates acquisition and acceptance of contract work with CEO and Production Director; determines compatibility of requirements with operation capabilities and restrictions in terms of manufacturing capacity, manpower requirements, production cycle times, material lead time and inventory objectives to achieve production results at minimum expenses
- May indirectly supervise staff
- Trains and certifies staff on operation of forklift and other production equipment
- Responsible for daily safety inspections on forklift and other production equipment
- Other duties as assigned by Regional Director and Corporate Production Director
QUALIFICATIONS and CHARACTERISTICS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three-to-five years’ experience as a supervisor or planner in a production setting
- Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
- Knowledge of DODD rules and regulations
- Able to professionally communicate with businesses and employees
- Ability to make plans and follow-through
- Problem solver with ability to think outside the box
- Extremely organized self-starter
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to adapt to changes and spur of the moment decision-making
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and move objects. Must be able to stoop, stretch, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to sit to use computer and/or calculator and telephone. Eyesight capabilities must be sufficient to perform these functions. Hearing must be adequate to perform these functions. Must be physically able to lift, carry and move individuals in a safe manner, which includes wheelchairs according to in-service training.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Pass criminal background check
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- Pass pre-employment physical exam
- Complete all DODD training requirements
- Complete CPR, AED, and first aid training
- Must pass annual physical examination
- Travel between United Network Alliance workshops in NE Ohio
FLSA: Salaried exempt
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 Hours Per Week, Flexible as scheduled
PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 90 Days
