Store Manager Job Description
Reports to Area Sales Manager
The Store Manager has a variety of responsibilities. Some of these responsibilities include friendly customer service, accurate Point of Sale operations, complying with all company policies, and keeping a clean and safe environment for customers and employees. Maximize the profitability and performance of the store by increasing sales and controlling expenses.
The essential functions of the position are:
- Adhere to Sales Associate and Assistant Manager Job Description.
- Able to perform all functions required for store operations.
- Required to work a minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Be knowledgeable of, able to train and enforce, all company policies.
- Maintain a score of 80% or higher on Customer Appeal Survey.
- Timely completion of computer-based training for all employees.
- Timely processing of all payroll and Human Resources Department forms.
- Maintain all underground storage tank documents.
- Evaluate employees and develop an action plan to improve performance.
- Utilize Corrective Action to enhance employee performance.
- Determine most efficient allocation of labor budget consistent with adequate customer service and designate staff assignment and scheduling accordingly. Schedule should be posted two weeks in advance.
- Be knowledgeable of, able to train and enforce, all company policies.
- Ensure all inside and outside equipment is functioning and in good order. Report all issues to supervisor.
- Actively recruit individuals who appear to have good qualifications.
- Aware of community needs and activities.
- Provide continuous supervision and training of employees to ensure proper job performance.
- Direct employees in suggestive selling techniques to boost merchandise sales and support company programs. Follow monthly promotional calendar and implement promotional sales.
- Follow through with action plans.
- Accurately completes fuel survey daily, is aware of competitor pricing, and reports changes timely.
- Accurately completes merchandise surveys as requested.
- Ensure proper review and understanding of Employee Handbook.
- Follows all State and Federal regulations.
- Respond to emails promptly.
- Proper ordering and merchandising to ensure an adequately stocked and correctly priced store.
- Ensure all Merchandise and Fuel price changes are implemented promptly.
- Conduct and report accurate security counts as required.
- Timely accurate completion of daily paperwork.
- Gauge fuel tanks to determine gasoline inventory.
- Control inventory to prevent shrink.
- Ensure all required safety equipment is available, in good order, and being utilized.
- Remains professional at all times, treating others with courtesy and respect while representing the company.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by Area Sales Manager.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and crouching.
- Occasional climbing, pushing, and pulling, and lifting of up to 50 pounds.
