Job Description:
The Strategic Sourcing Business Professional position will support and manage the procurement of all goods and services required by UPS Airline functions for operational and strategic purposes. As part of the Procurement Team, you will assist in supporting contracts and managing relationships with both internal stakeholders and suppliers. This role will also help with sourcing needs, creating, reviewing, and negotiating contractual arrangements through project planning, execution, and strategic advising.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the interface between internal stakeholders and suppliers in a competitive environment.
Manage and support Airline contractual needs through project management.
Create, administer, and analyze Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Quote (RFQ), and Requests for Proposal (RFP).
Present recommendations to leadership and stakeholders, revising solutions as needed to align with business objectives and overall value.
Engage in negotiations of commercial terms with suppliers.
Apply specialized functional expertise, acquired through a combination of university education and field experience.
May supervise others in a “player-coach” capacity while primarily focusing on individual expertise.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with a high level of accountability for delivering quality results.
Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Additional Details:
Location: Louisville, KY (onsite role, requiring commuting). Must already reside in or be willing to self relocate to the Louisville, KY area.
