Job Description
Job Title: Packaging / General Labor 2nd & 3rd shift
Reports To: Shift Supervisor
Objective: Fill, weigh, record finished pet food being packed.
Job Functions:
- Confirm formula and packaging is correct
- Fill product into packaging and seal packaging
- Confirm weight is accurate
- Confirm lot code information is correct.
- Record product type, size, formula, and quality packed
Food Safety Functions:
- Inspect product and packaging for any foul smell
- Inspect product and packaging for any foreign materials
- Inspect product and packaging for appearance
- Ensure no finished product is placed on the floor
- Cover any unused packaging
- Report any off odors, insects, and rodent activities
- Compliance of GMPs and the food safety plan
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to read and write.
- Effective communication skills.
- Must be able to lift at least 55 lbs. - Stacking bags on a skid - repeatedly
