VICE-PRESIDENT OPERATIONS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
Classification: Exempt; Salaried Position Reports To: President
Summary / Objective
United Pool Distribution, Inc. is an innovative Third-Party Logistics firm ( 3PL ) that provides for establishing and managing efficient supply chain solutions for our retail industry Clientele. This position is responsible for ensuring the Company operates in an efficient and effective manner. While our Staff is relatively few (under 10) , our scope of operations is significant in business volume and geography serviced. This position as the key on-site leader is held accountable for the successful and continuous operations in servicing our external and internal Customers through planning, coordinating, and directing all aspects of our day-to-day service in hands-on fashion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Level professional to direct and actively participate in Company efforts in the overall service to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess an aptitude for problem solving in the ever challenging and rewarding logistics profession. Core responsibilities will include:
· Support strategic goals to provide safe, quality, and efficient distribution services for our Customers through our Agent partner network; direct and prioritize the workload of direct reports.
· Effectively develop short and long-range strategic plans in collaboration with the Executive Team.
· Focus on strategic priorities; leverage industry expertise and best practice knowledge to develop and align practical plans.
· Have or develop a high awareness and understanding of competitive markets, service differentiators, and key business drivers.
· Provide administrative oversight in support of the business operation, including monthly financial reporting.
· Coach, develop, and mentor staff on an ongoing basis to ensure the highest service quality.
Job Requirements:
· Extensive knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the logistics and distribution field with a solid understanding of supply chain management.
· Familiarity with MicroSoft Office products and databases or similar software applications.
· Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to nurture and develop productive external and internal relationships.
· Detail-oriented, data-accurate, and a highly organized skill set.
· Knowledge of barcode label scan technology and processes would be a strong incentive for priority consideration.
