United Quality Cooperative is a locally owned co-op in Western North Dakota. We specialize in Agriculture, Energy, and Retail. Offering top-level customer service with a knowledgeable and experienced team bringing innovative solutions to our patrons.
Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service & Training
- Model and promote excellent customer service.
- Train and empower employees to provide outstanding service.
- Resolve customer complaints courteously and promptly.
2. Recruitment & Hiring
- Communicate hiring needs to Operations Manager or Recruiter.
- Use recruitment techniques to attract new employees.
- Ensure new employees are properly trained.
3. Employee Management
- Conduct regular meetings to enhance communication and teamwork.
- Perform scheduled employee performance reviews.
- Prepare and post work schedules two weeks in advance.
- Provide clear direction and expectations to employees.
- Offer timely motivational feedback and coaching.
- Counsel and document employees as needed.
- Train and develop employees, including the Assistant Manager.
4. Store Operations
- Monitor orders to ensure in-stock efficiency.
- Review management reports and take action to balance inventories.
- Verify deliveries for accuracy.
- Ensure product quality and freshness through proper rotation and monitoring.
- Ensure accurate and visible pricing.
- Merchandise products according to guidelines.
- Provide feedback on sales and profit opportunities.
- Follow state, local, and company guidelines and regulations.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Ensure inventory and cash control procedures are followed.
- Follow safety and security procedures.
- Control labor and manage expenses within guidelines.
5. Additional Responsibilities
- Develop the Assistant Manager.
- Assume other duties as needed to support store operations.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a retail or convenience store environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Access to a car or other motorized vehicle.
- Liability insurance on such vehicle.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Availability to work any shift or day with a minimum 45-50 hour work week.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication).
- Ability to lift 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
