Summary of Essential Functions
- Display a passion for health and wellness, with a positive attitude and genuine concern for people as it relates to their health
- Coordinates scheduling, tracking, and reporting of wellness program participation, including quarterly reporting to the Coordinator and Senior Director
- Assists with implementation and administration of all components of employee wellness programming, under the direction of the Wellness Coordinator
- Provides assistance with the annual wellness screenings
- Communicate and interact with varied employee and spouse populations in a respectful, confidential, empathetic manner, using various communication methods, always promoting the Be Healthy program in a positive light
- Meets deadlines with a prompt, thorough approach, with the ability to prioritize various requests and complete duties as required
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Health, Exercise Science, Wellness, Education, Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion, Psychology, Kinesiology, or Physical Education preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, Access, Publisher, Excel & PowerPoint
- Demonstrate proficiency in use of basic and LOOKUP formulas in Excel and mail merge in Word, and flyer promotions in PowerPoint or Publisher
- Type proficiently for computer data entry, ensuring correct spelling, grammar, and accuracy.
- Perform manual blood pressure checks and measure waist circumference.
- Skilled in oral and written communications, including the ability to draft, proof, and construct professional documents and correspondence using contemporary business standards.
- Effective organizational skills including the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at the same time and adaptability to changing priorities to meet the demands of the business
- Must have the capability to listen to directions well and ask questions if needed
- Exercise initiative to follow through on projects for timeliness, completeness, and serviceability
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must be able to instruct in group/class settings and be an excellent public speaker
Physical Requirements
- Primarily works the day shift; additional hours, including limited weekends, may be required as needed to meet the needs of the wellness program
- May be expected to lift over twenty-five (25) pounds
- Ability to distinguish between numbers and symbols
- Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity with substantial movement of wrist and/or fingers
- Walking and climbing to accomplish tasks
- Corrected vision and hearing to normal or near normal range
- Extended periods of sitting and/or walking depending on specific duties
Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule and track employee and spouse participation in the health risk management program, wellness incentive management program, scheduling appointments for various individual and group meetings, following up on missed appointments, tracking attendance, and reporting participation on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Prepares daily, weekly, and month-end reports as assigned. Must be completed timely and accurately presented.
- Provides feedback on whether Employee Wellness program processes are effective and functioning efficiently
- Reconcile aerobics instructor invoices against group fitness class sign-in sheets, reconcile personal training session counts, and vendor invoices and complete appropriate check requests timely and accurately.
- Assist with preparation of the annual Wellness Screenings; Develops employee forms, brochures, and communications for screenings.
- Reviews, reconciles, and investigates all wellness plan monthly reporting data from wellness-related vendors
- Participate in the development, presentation, and reporting of participation satisfaction feedback
- Creates and revises wellness plan documents, forms, brochures, notices, information sheets, new employee orientation packets, and Annual Screening procedures and packets in coordination with the Wellness Coordinator and Senior Director of Human Resources
- Assists with coordination of onsite and offsite wellness activities and programming (exercise classes, education classes & sessions, challenges, community fitness-related activities)
- Support and conduct outreach and wellness activities that may include communications, events, training, and/or seminars.
- Create and/or lead some of the health promotion programs such as remote employee outreach, wellness screenings, lunch and learns, or employee health promotion groups.
- Create health promotion educational content as needed.
- Collaborate and interact effectively with other departments and program leadership to identify and execute partnerships to increase overall engagement.
- Assist with management of social media and web content for Employee Wellness.
- Assist the Coordinator, Senior Director, and other co-workers with special assignments.
- Performs all other tasks/responsibilities as necessary and as requested.
