About the Role
As an Advanced Scheduling and Planning Specialist, you are a professional responsible for utilizing our sophisticated scheduling software and our analytical techniques to optimize production processes, resource allocation, and overall operational efficiency within this company, by creating detailed production plans and schedules while considering constraints like capacity, demand, and material availability, aiming to minimize costs and maximize on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Advanced Planning and Scheduling Software Proficiency:
Expertise in using specialized APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) software to model complex production scenarios, generate optimized schedules, and analyze potential bottlenecks.
Demand Forecasting:
Analyzing historical sales data and market trends to accurately predict future demand, informing production planning.
Capacity Planning:
Assessing available production capacity across machines, labor, and materials to identify potential constraints and optimize resource utilization.
Production Scheduling:
Creating detailed production schedules that consider lead times, priorities, and customer deadlines while balancing workload across different production processes.
Scenario Analysis:
Evaluating different scheduling scenarios and potential disruptions to identify the most efficient production plan, including contingency measures.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Generating reports and visualizations to track key performance indicators (KPIs) like on-time delivery, inventory levels, and production efficiency.
Collaboration:
Working closely with cross-functional teams like operations, sales, procurement, and quality control to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
Change Management:
Adapting schedules and plans to respond to unexpected changes in demand, production issues, or supply chain disruptions.
Required Skills:
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in APS software (e.g., Syteline, SAP, Oracle, ORTEC), strong data analysis skills, proficiency in Excel and other data manipulation tools.
Analytical Thinking:
Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make informed decisions based on quantitative insights
Problem-Solving:
Identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts, optimizing production flow, and finding solutions to operational challenges
Communication:
Effectively communicating complex scheduling information to stakeholders across different departments
Project Management:
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Physical Demands
- Occasional lifting to 50 lbs, and mobility throughout a manufacturing facility and office areas.
- Overtime hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
