United currently operates two high-performing elementary schools (K-5) and two high-performing middle schools (6-8) that serve more than 800 students. Position Description
The Occupational Therapist (OT) role provides an opportunity for a talented educator to help students develop the skills they need to succeed academically and socially across United’s four campuses. The OT will have a number of key responsibilities including the following: providing individualized therapy in school settings; conducting assessments and evaluations across different grade levels to develop tailored plans; and collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the functional and educational needs of each student. This position is integral in ensuring that all students have access to high-quality educational experiences.

Qualifications:
- Holds a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
- Holds a valid Professional Pupil Services License as an Occupational Therapist from the State Board of Education in Ohio.
- Has at least two years of successful occupational therapy experience in an urban school (preferred).
Knowledge and Skills:
- Skilled at supporting a student’s ability to participate in expected daily school routines, activities or “occupations” by supporting academic achievement, promoting positive behaviors necessary for learning and preparing students for life after graduation.
- Skilled at assisting team members in addressing both mental and physical health in collaboration with a variety of partners, including students and parents.
- Is committed to using data-driven instructional practices and the techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0 to improve student outcomes.
- Is relentless in writing, refining, and internalizing curriculum, lessons, and assessments.
- Is open and committed to implementing frequent feedback from team members.
- Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Comfortability with Google products for effective communication and completion of job responsibilities.
Terms of Employment
- Although this position will begin July 28, 2025, applications will be considered immediately.
- This is a full-time position.
- Report times are typically Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., although some job-related tasks can be expected outside of these hours.
- Salary: The starting salary for a new Occupational Therapist with a Master’s degree is $51,000. The starting salary for other applicants will depend on professional experience and education level.
