What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Houseman position at United Service Companies?
SUMMARY: The Banquet House Attendant will promote a safe and welcoming working environment to achieve maximum guest satisfaction. The Banquet House Attendant will work with all Managers, Chefs, and Captains to ensure maximum efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Assists servers with set up, break down, and clearing of restaurant (and private events) tables, chairs, furniture, equipment, and other service and rental items
- Assist management with the setting, decoration and tear-down/removal of AM OR PM buffets and coffee breaks and satellite bar stations
- Assist with setting of banquet tables for a full service meal. Quickly clearing dirty banquet table settings, linens and prepare for tear-down/removal
- Maintain exceptional organization of all linen and their respective bins and racks for storage, pick up, and removal
- Safely deliver carts of dirty plateware/flatware/glasses to kitchen for washing
- Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meals with necessary equipment including silverware, linen and condiments
- Assist with the service of guests with water, beverages, and food items to begin the dining experience and replenish as necessary
- Transport all needed service materials and props to banquet/function rooms and storage
Experience & Education:
- At least one year customer service experience required
- At least six months food & beverage experience required
- Banquet or catering experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job REQUIRMENTS:
- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Highly organized and detailed oriented.
- Exceptional guest-focus
- Ability to communicate and follow instructions accurately both orally and written in English. Fluency in other languages beneficial
- Ability to operate LCD projector, laptop computer, overhead projector, TV’s and monitors as well as kitchen equipment.
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must be highly detailed orientated
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Must have excellent listening skills
- Must possesses excellent communication skills
- Must be professional in appearance and demeanor

Physical Demands:

The employee may be required to frequently climb (stairs). The employee may be required to kneel. The employee must frequently, carry pull and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 200 lbs
Must be able to work in areas of loud noises. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. HOURS
Due to the seasonal nature of the hospitality industry, and the fact that Maverick Hotels and Restaurants provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, an employee may be required to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays and/or overtime.
