Summary: The host is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating the guest experience. Thus ensuring optimum hospitality, exceptional guest service and maximum profitability. This associate will greet all guests with a warm smile and helping hand. This associate will assist in maintaining the Maverick Hotel and Restaurants service standards.
Essential job Functions: includes the following. Other duties may be assigned,
- Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
- Leads guest experience from arrival to departure
- Ensures physical atmosphere and cleanliness of where they are seating a guest, including inspecting furniture, fixtures and equipment
- Takes initiative to develop and execute solutions for guest requests
- Responsible for daily report of guest covers and feedback to leadership
- Enforces high standards of hygiene and sanitation within the department
- Tracks regular guest experiences/traffic
- Assists with the development, training and inspiration to fellow teammates
- Provides prompt follow-up to all guest concerns
- Empowers team to exceed service standards
- Instills a calm, organized approach in all stressful situations
- Maintains a safe and pleasant work environment
- Ensures cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant
- Promotes high associate morale
- Answers guest phone calls and inquiries with care and understanding
- Takes a proactive approach to stressful moments
- Attends appropriate department meetings
- Resolves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness
- Maintains a strong knowledge of hospitality trends, especially food & beverage
- Provides general information for guests and understands the local attractions
- Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Maverick Hotels and Restaurants including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest
- Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all location amenities as well as any special events
- Interacts with fellow associates in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
- When assigned, up sells to guests
- Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
- Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to Maverick MOD
- Ensures proper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, flatware, glassware and plateware
- Follows through on lost and found procedures. No articles shall be removed from location. Absolute respect for guest property should always be exercised
- Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Maverick Hotel and Restaurants dress code standards
- Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all time

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High school diploma, GED, or the equivalent work experience required
- Two or four year degree in field of choice preferred
- Prior experience in Hospitality preferred
Job REQUIRMENTS:
- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have excellent leadership skills
- Must be a positive example for staff
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
- Must be highly detailed orientated
- Must have excellent computer skills
- Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Due to the seasonal nature of the hospitality industry, and the fact that Maverick Hotels and Restaurants provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, an employee may be required to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays and/or overtime
