What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steward position at United Service Companies?
Job Summary:
- Maintain and clean all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils as well as entire kitchen areas keeping up OSHA standards at all times.
Responsibility/Duties:
- Assume 100% responsibility for cleanliness of wares
- Daily ware washing and storage of F&B items in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain par levels of service ready wares on a consistent basis
- Adhere to practices that maintain the highest level of health, hygiene, and safety
- Maintain general cleanliness of all kitchen areas
- Load, run, and unload machines
- Report any mechanical problems to manager immediately
- Bag and haul kitchen trash to dumpster
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
- Monitor machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle
Work Product:
- Daily Checklist
- Kitchen areas being clean to OSHA standards
Performance Measurement:
- Attendance
- Supervisor / manager inspections
- Uniform and name tag
Qualifications:
- Positive attitude
- Ability to take direction and ask questions if needed
- Ability to reach/bend/stoop and frequently lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to work in standing position for long periods of time
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends
