Dog Handler Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities Summary:
Responsible for handling bat dog JJ The Field General during USPBL games at Jimmy John's Field during the 2025 baseball season from May 16 through September 6. JJ is a 8-year-old Red Golden Retriever who has been working at Jimmy John's Field since 2018. We will be using three to four dog handlers during the season to take care of all the games.
Primary responsibilities
- Take JJ to his table inside the ballpark's main gates 1 hour prior to the start of the game for fans to be able to see him.
- Take JJ to the field prior to the game to take first patch baseballs out to the pitcher's mound.
- Work on field with JJ to have him retrieve bats during the game.
- Work on field with JJ to have him carry his basket with water to the umpire during the game.
- Work on field with JJ to have him catch frisbees between innings during the game.
- Following JJ's on field activities during each game, take him around the ballpark to VIP seating areas for meet and greets.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $12.48 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 12 per week
