Senior Media Director - Job Description

UNITED SIKHS is currently seeking an energetic self-starter to join its fast-paced Media Team as a specialist and creative PR writer. This person will be responsible for media outreach and follow-up : maintain media relationships, draft and distribute media communications to our donors and supporters, while also writing publications on online platforms and monitoring media coverage.

Specific Responsibilities Include :

• Collaborate with the senior leadership to develop communications strategies that will broaden programmatic reach and deepen impact. Represent senior leadership in meetings.
• Lead events to plan, strategize and create a meaningful value proposition and present it to the right audiences.
• Develop and refine UNITED SIKHS' core messages to ensure organizational consistency.
• Identify significant media and public policy issues that can be leveraged to support UNITED SIKHS' work, and create and implement plans to exploit them.
• Serve as executive editor for the organization's website.
• Oversee organizational response to inquiries about UNITED SIKHS.
• Monitor top influencers, competitors, media, and industry trends for potentially shareable content.
• Maintain an existing network of contacts in the media and find landing spots for the organization.
• Participate with other department staff in key areas where public relations and social media impact organizational objectives and goals.
• Support consistency of the organization’s message in all PR materials and assist with design and proofing.

The Ideal Candidate :

1) a copy of your latest updated resume. Interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis until a candidate is selected.

Pay : $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
