Overview : The Electrical Line Technician gets to 'spark' up the business by installing, repairing and maintaining temporary power poles, lines, and generators for our customers. this roll assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures. Responsibilities : Maintain, operate, and repair electrical systemsPerform installation and maintenance tasks to ensure effective operation of various electrical equipmentInstall and repair of temporary power poles using hand tools and testing instruments to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components and isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other elements of electrical systemsMount motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and complete circuits according to diagram specificationsInspect completed work for conformance with requirements of applicable safety codesMaintain telephone or radio contact with dispatch to update dispatch when on and offsite and to receive additional instructions, and for changes to work locationsPerform all work in accordance with established safety proceduresMaintain truck logs according to state and federal regulationsPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization including superiors and direct reportsAbility to perform simple arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, and divide). Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency, measurement, weight, and distance.
