The United Soccer League (USL) is the heartbeat of American soccer. Impacting more than 200 communities across the United States, the USL is the first and only soccer organization in the United States to build a youth-to-professional pathway for both men and women within one ecosystem. That structure includes three professional leagues: USL Super League (women), USL Championship (men), and USL League One (men); two pre-professional leagues: USL League Two (men) and the USL W League (women); and two youth platforms: USL Academy and USL Youth.

Position Purpose
The Sr. Director, Integrated Marketing – USL Super League will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies to build brand awareness, elevate the league’s presence, and drive its growth. This role will shape the league’s positioning, connect with fans through dynamic storytelling, and implement initiatives that increase awareness and engagement. With a deep understanding of brand strategy, audience insights, and multi-channel marketing, the Sr. Director will develop campaigns and partnerships that strengthen the league’s presence and impact.
The Sr. Director, Integrated Marketing – USL Super League will focus on expanding the league’s reach and deepening fan engagement through integrated marketing efforts. This role will collaborate across departments—including content, social media, communications, digital, operations, partnerships, and broadcast media—to ensure a cohesive strategy that builds the league’s identity and supports its long-term success.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Create and implement marketing strategies to drive awareness and growth of the USL Super League and position the USL women’s pathway within the broader women’s soccer ecosystem.
- Manage and execute the strategy for driving brand awareness, including developing brand campaigns, marketing initiatives, and strategic brand partnerships.
- Develop and manage a direct-to-fan communication strategy, including fan journeys, email marketing, mobile marketing, and others.
- Oversee content development and execution for the Super League’s owned and operated channels, including website and social media channels.
- Provide direction to the USL internal content, video, and creative teams on the creation of breakthrough storytelling that informs, educates, and inspires women’s soccer fans across North America and beyond.
- Leverage key women’s soccer moments, initiatives, and developments (e.g., Olympics) that align with overall messaging and objectives.
- Develop and implement paid media programs to drive marketing efforts.
- Monitor, analyze and communicate marketing efforts and results.
- Oversee assigned staff, budgets, programs, and projects, as required.
- Assist with internal public relations and marketing efforts within the USL network and within USL HQ.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external agencies, sponsors, and partners to ensure alignment of marketing efforts and maximize visibility for the USL Super League.
- Design and implement fan experience initiatives that engage fans in innovative ways, both online and in-person, to foster loyalty and deepen the connection with the league.
- Ensure consistency of brand messaging and visual identity across all touchpoints, maintaining a cohesive presence that reflects the league’s mission and values.
- Utilize consumer insights and data analytics to inform marketing strategies and optimize campaigns for increased engagement, conversion, and retention.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field or equivalent experience/combined education.
- 8-10 years of marketing experience.
- Understanding of and passion for the women’s soccer industry, marketing, media, and fan culture, both global and domestic.
- Strong ability to write, edit, and speak for a wide range of audiences including internal executives, club owners and executives, and the public.
- Strategic vision and the ability to clearly articulate and successfully translate strategy into results.
- Experience developing and executing digital and/or social media strategy and engaging content for a brand.
- Comfortable handling confidential material and information that could have a substantial impact on the organization if made public, intentionally or not.
- Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage a broad portfolio of projects simultaneously.
- Experience in measurement tools used to assess the impact of marketing efforts.
- Proven ability to lead, manage and develop staff in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, executives, member clubs, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-faceted, fast, fluid, and deadline-driven environment.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic a must.
- Ability to work as business needs require which may include long days, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel if / when necessary.
- Must have U.S. work authorization.
Work Environment
Based in Tampa, FL, USL Headquarters provides a vibrant and open working environment designed to promote collaboration, the exchange of ideas, and knowledge sharing. We believe in fostering a culture that encourages creativity, communication, and teamwork.
Currently, USL HQ operates on a hybrid work model. From Monday to Thursday, team members gather in person to harness the power of face-to-face collaboration. This not only strengthens the bonds within the team but also enhances communication and innovation. On Fridays, we transition to a remote work setup, providing our team with the flexibility to manage their tasks in an environment of their choosing.
Typical USL HQ hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm ET. Evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel may be necessary based on business demands.
