What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Engineer position at United Software Group?
7-8yrs Experienced DevOps and Automation Engineer for.a remote role with the following skills in order of importance / priority :
- Coding skills in languages / technologies like Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, Ant, Yaml / Ansible, Rexx, JCL
- Knowledge of mainframe (e.g. file systems like Unix and MVS, middleware like CICS, DB2, mainframe commands and utilities)
- Knowledge of COBOL / PL1 on mainframe including compiler and linker options, build based dependencies
- Understanding of DevOps tools and practices including Agile, source code management, building Build / Deploy / Release pipelines
- Knowledge of tools such as Jira / Confluence, GitHub, CICD (e.g. Harness, Jenkins), IBM DBB, Artifactory, Wazi Deploy
- Knowledge of SSH, Docker and Unix / Linux shell commands and utilities
- Experience with IBM Developer for z and Eclipse based IDEs
- Experience with IBM's Rational Team Concert (Engineering Workflow Management) including Enterprise Extensions and the built-in source code management
- Experience with test automation and code analysis tools for mainframe applications a plus (phase 2)
- Has excellent communications & presentation skills - able to explain complex tasks to management
