Position overview :
We are looking for a skilled Java Developer to join our dynamic software development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with EJB (Enterprise JavaBeans), JSP (JavaServer Pages), and Struts framework or similar frameworks. A solid understanding of Oracle databases is also essential. Experience with Apache Velocity is a plus.
Key Responsibilities :
Development :
Design, develop, test, and implement Java-based applications using EJB 1.0.
Create dynamic web content using JSP and ensure seamless integration with back-end services.
Framework Utilization :
Utilize Struts or similar MVC framework to build robust web applications, focusing on maintaining clean architecture and code standards.
Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Database Interaction :
Interact with Oracle database systems to design database schemas that support application functionalities.
Write efficient SQL queries to handle data retrieval and manipulation operations needed for application performance.
Performance Optimization :
Analyze application performance and address bottlenecks related to EJB and database queries.
Implement caching and other performance best practices to enhance application responsiveness.
Documentation and Testing :
Write clear documentation for code, features, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing across the team.
Conduct unit and integration testing to maintain software quality and reliability.
Collaboration :
Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical solutions aligned with business goals.
Participate in code reviews to uphold quality standards and share best practices.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience (5 years) in Java development, specifically with EJB 1.0 and JSP.
Familiarity with Struts or similar MVC frameworks.
Strong knowledge of Oracle database, including PL / SQL.
Experience with Apache Velocity is a plus.
Understanding of software development methodologies including Agile.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in Java programming.
Background in web application development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
Familiarity with application servers (e.g., JBoss, Apache Tomcat) that support EJB and JSP.
