The Amazon Supply Chain & Merchandising Planner is responsible for managing inventory demand for products sold on Amazon (both FBA and Vendor Central), ensuring that the business has optimal stock levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess inventory. The planner works closely with the Demand Planner, Warehouse Operations team, Marketing, and Sales team, to maintain the right balance between inventory availability and cost efficiency. They play a critical role in ensuring products are always available for customers while avoiding stockouts or overstock situations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Analysis & Inventory Management:
- Regularly review inventory performance based on performance metrics (e.g., sell-through rates, days of inventory and work closely w/ Demand Planner to develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for all products listed on Amazon (5,000 SKU’s ).
- Analyze historical sales data, pricing, market trends, seasonality, and promotional activities and communicate it to the Demand Planner to predict future demand.
- Closely monitor FBA stock levels, incoming shipments and compare to future demand to predict and avoid out of stocks (and minimize overstocks).
- Coordinate w/ Sales and Supply chain team to schedule product launch inventory. Utilize born to run program in Vendor Central and send initial stock to FBA fulfilment centers.
- Send and monitor inventory for Vine review curation in Vendor Central and FBA.
- Monitor weekly Vendor Central replenishment orders for cancelations and/ or oversold products and take corrective action with Inventory/ Operations team.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce slow-moving or excess inventory.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory management such as stockouts, lead times, excess inventory, and turnover rates and regularly report to stakeholders within the organization.
Shipment Creation:
- Populate monthly FBA replenishments and coordinate w/ Demand Planner to confirm quantities and ensure timely restocking of Amazon inventory.
- Create shipment in Amazon Seller Central.
- Tracking the progress of these shipments from creation to delivery to the FBA DC.
- Being reactive to the regular issues that come up throughout the shipment/ delivery process.
- Provide BOL documentation to Finance team and recovery agents to recover shortage claims.
- Help warehouse team in coordinating w/ Amazon third-party logistics providers to ensure seamless shipment pick up schedules and any fulfillment operation per needed.
- Maintain communication with Amazon’s seller support and vendor teams to resolve any issues related to inventory, orders, or shipping.
- Stay up to date on Amazon’s operational requirements, guidelines, and policies related to inventory management and demand planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFICS:
- This is a full-time position
- Typical work hours and days are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- This position is based in the Fountain Valley, CA office. This position requires in-office attendance at least four (4) days per week (subject to increase in future).
- No travel is expected for this position.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
- The Company is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
- The salary range for this role in Fountain Valley, CA is $70,000 - $80,000.
- In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including health & wellness benefits, retirement, time off, employee discounts, and others.

- This position does not have any leadership requirements and/or responsibilities.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in sales analysis and demand planning, using Amazon selling environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) and experience with demand planning software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or third-party Amazon tools like Helium 10, Jungle Scout, or another 3rd party Amazon connection solution for sales tracking/analysis.
- Strong ability to analyze sales trends, inventory data, and forecasting models to make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to troubleshoot supply chain issues and proactively find solutions to inventory challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams (sales, marketing, operations) and external partners (suppliers, Amazon).
- High attention to detail and accuracy in forecasting and inventory management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Candidate must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with ability to: be in a stationary position 50% of the time; occasionally move about inside the office to access fine cabinets, office machinery (such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.); constantly operate a computer; occasionally ascend/descend stairs; constantly position self to maintain files in file cabinets; the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations; the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feed of the observer); and frequently move boxes weighing up to 5 pounds across office for various needs. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions if projects/opportunities arise. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
