United Staffing Solutions is representing an assisted living community in Pompton Plains, NJ who is looking for Full Time Line Cooks to join thier team.
As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in our culinary team, preparing and delivering menu items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events. You will be responsible for various stations, from grill and sauté to fry and pantry, ensuring that every plate served meets our high standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
Pay: $20-$21/hr DOE
Schedule:
- Sunday 7am-3:30pm
- Monday 11:30am-8pm
- Tuesday 11:30am-8pm
- Wednesday 11:30am-8pm
- Thursday 11:30am-8pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Line Cook:
- Execute pre-preparation, setup, cooking, and order service for a diverse range of menu items.
- Work in various stations including Grill Cook, Sauté Cook, Fry Cook, Pantry Cook, and Short Order Cook.
- Follow production schedules, recipes, and portion guidelines to prepare meals efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, and utensils using a 'clean as you go' approach.
- Adhere to safe food handling practices, ensuring proper temperature maintenance and HACCP guidelines.
- Collaborate with fellow team members and communicate effectively with expeditors and service staff.
- Uphold the highest standards of quality, freshness, and presentation for all dishes.
- Work efficiently during peak service times while minimizing waste and maintaining food quality.
- Embrace feedback and continuously improve your skills and techniques.
Qualifications needed for the Line Cook:
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced cook-to-order environment.
- At least 2 year experience in a Line Cook role.
- Ability to excel under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in station setup, meal preparation, and plating for assigned menu items.
- Knowledgeable in safe food handling practices and sanitation procedures.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing various kitchen tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
