Requirements
Candidates must meet specific requirements before joining the Air Force. These include:
- Meeting background and health standards set by the Air Force, Department of Defense, and federal law
- Obtaining a Bachelor's degree in an engineering field related to one of the following specialties: aerospace, aeronautical, astronautical, computer, electrical, electronics, communication, or mechanical
- Completing the Defence Acquisition University, Fundamentals of Systems Acquisition Management course, or Acquisition Fundamentals course
- Finishing the Air Force Flight Test Engineer course or equivalent
- Having at least 24 months of experience in a qualified position, a master's degree in a specified discipline with 12 months of experience, or a Doctor of Philosophy degree in a specified discipline
- Completing Officer Training School (OTS), Air Force Academy (AFA), or Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC)
- Being between the ages of 18 and not having reached your 42nd birthday
