What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Assistant position at United States Air Force?
This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the JBER, Aeroclub.
This position is also Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.
This position is supervised by the Aero Club who is available to deal with unusual situations which may occur and to provide necessary guidance and instructions when performing new or procedurally complex duties. This position includes working independently and performing duties that fall under Aero Club Program. Actively participates in the management of the activity or organization by performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties.
Applies knowledge of the organization, its function and regulations to carry out a wide variety of administrative functions related to the organization and its mission (i.e. accounting, purchasing, logistics & supply, resource protection, fund handling, etc.). Responsible for meeting suspense deadlines. Composes, updates, and types a wide variety of correspondence from brief verbal or written instructions from the supervisor. Maintains club member flight records, accounts, and other personal data. Creates and maintains, on a current basis, various official files and other reference materials using the Air Force documentation filing system. Designated Records Custodian (RC). Registers new members and assists the Chief Flight Instructor in the effective scheduling of instructor pilots for new members. Responsible for providing a variety of information to prospective members of the club. Maintains Veteran's Administration and State student programs. Maintains ledgers to compile monthly pilot supplies inventory. Types purchase orders (P.O.) requests, calls, and receiving reports in IBPS. Assists all other supervisor(s) in the receipt of resale and supply items, inventory counts, property accounts and any other required daily/monthly/annual paperwork. Purchases fuel and aircraft supplies. Maintains resale inventory. May be required to perform cashier duties and pick up aircraft parts/supplies as needed. Prepares and consolidates cashier report, notifying supervisor of any suspected irregularities. Researches income/usage reports and performs courier duties to the NAF Resource Management section or other sections of Force Support offices. Opens/closes facilities when needed. Prepares time and attendance cards utilizing SETS. Maybe required to drive a government vehicle. Performs other related duties as assigned.

- U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
