Airborne Cryptologic Language Analysts are responsible for translating intelligence communications intercepted during flights, providing critical threat warnings and actionable intelligence that aid in mission planning.

This highly specialized role requires individuals with exceptional language skills and the ability to work under pressure. Successful candidates will have demonstrated proficiency in a designated language and completed the necessary training programs.
Responsibilities
- Translate intelligence communications intercepted during flights
- Analyze messages obtained during flight to provide critical threat warnings and actionable intelligence
- Ensure the safety of Airmen through accurate translation and timely delivery of information
Requirements
- Age: 17-42 years old
- U.S. citizen
- Qualifying ASVAB score
- No record history of temporomandibular joint pain or disorder
- Height: no less than 59 inches and no more than 80 inches
- Succesful completion of a polygraph test
- Completion of a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
- Demonstrated proficiency in a designated language, or successful graduation of the Defense Language Institute in a designated language
- Completion of Aircrew Fundamentals Course, Airborne Cryptologic Linguist Course, and designated Survival Schools
- Completion of Initial Qualification Training with a valid aviation qualification
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
