You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience for the GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining order and protecting life and property; responding to emergency calls, complaints, or other calls during shift; and completing police reports or forms. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Specialized Experience for the GS-07 grade level: One year of specialized experience which includes performing law enforcement work which involves basic laws, regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and/or techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and/or property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
