Requires a USCP full field background investigation.DutiesThe United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards Congress, its Members, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. The USCP protects and secures Congress to fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe and secure environment.ResponsibilitiesAs a Special Agent within the Protective Services Bureau (PSB), you will perform a full range of protective and investigative functions. Special Agents are assigned to either the Dignitary Protection Division (DPD) or Investigations Division (ID). Duties include but are not limited to : DPD Special Agents : Provide protection for congressional leadership, including security arrangements for domestic and international travel. Provide personal security for Members of Congress and their families, visiting officials, and congressional events.ID Special Agents : Investigate criminal and terroristic activities, collect and disseminate information, prepare written reports, perform comprehensive investigative functions, conduct surveillance operations, and liaise with law enforcement agencies.Travel Required : 5% travel is required for both domestic and international assignments.Supervisory status : FalsePromotion Potential : 03RequirementsYou must obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI security clearance.
