The Engagement & Performance Specialist will support the Director of Engagement and Performance in designing, executing, and managing team member engagement, recognition, and performance development programs. This role will partner with teams across the organization to shape and support initiatives that strengthen how we work together, inspire engagement, and help us collectively thrive. The Specialist will help the organization understand and respond to what matters most to our people through data insights, collaborative projects, and ongoing refinement of our approaches to engagement, performance, and recognition. This role provides an opportunity to play a key part in shaping the culture and success of our organization by enhancing team member engagement, recognition, and performance strategies.
- Team Member Engagement
- Contribute to the development and execution of engagement strategies that align with organizational goals and values.
- Support the development of team member listening tools, such as surveys, focus groups, and feedback loops. In partnership with the Director, analyze engagement data to provide actionable insights.
- Partner with internal teams such as DE&I, Wellness, and Community Resource Groups (CRGs) to implement initiatives that foster an inclusive and holistic team member experience, while strengthening relationships across the organization.
- Support communication initiatives to ensure transparency and team connectivity. Collaborate with People Business Partners and the Internal Communications team to develop and distribute engagement-related communications.
- Manage the administration of programs that encourage team collaboration, recognition, and a shared sense of purpose.
- Performance Development & Recognition
- Partner with the Director to manage and execute performance development programs, including goal-setting processes and feedback mechanisms.
- Generate and analyze performance management data to measure impact, identify trends, and recommend improvements. Partner with the People & Culture Analyst to create the performance narrative in combination with other people analytics.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of performance evaluation tools, ensuring they support a high-performance culture.
- Organize and facilitate recognition events and programs. Work with Events & Logistics, Communications, and People & Culture to ensure events and messaging align with our employee value proposition, tone and language, and USOPC branding.
- Proactively identify and troubleshoot team member inquiries related to performance platforms, providing thoughtful solutions and guidance to enhance the team member experience.
- Research current trends and best practices in team member performance and recognition. Make suggestions on process improvements and system enhancements.
- Program Management & Analytics
- Gather, analyze, and report on engagement, performance, and recognition data to support strategic decision-making.
- Work with Director, people systems team, and vendors to enhance and streamline technological platforms, ensuring optimized team member engagement and performance development tools.
- Track program effectiveness metrics and recommend improvements based on organizational needs and external benchmarking.
- Collaborate on the implementation of communication plans to educate team members and leaders on engagement, performance development, and recognition strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience
- 3 years of experience supporting team member engagement, performance management, or HR-related initiatives
- Familiarity with employee recognition programs and engagement best practices preferred
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret data, translating insights into strategic recommendations
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technology platforms, including survey tools and data dashboards
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders, including individual contributors and executive leaders
- Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships
- Passion for sport and an understanding of the dynamics of an elite sports organization is a plus

- Hiring Pay Range: $56,500 - $65,482 per year.
- This full-time, exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
- Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 10% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
