Here's a summary of responsibilities :
The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) is a nonprofit organization. It is one of the only national Olympic / Paralympic Committees in the world that does not receive government funding for its Olympic & Paralympic programs;
instead, it relies on the generous support of a committed community of sponsors and donors. Increasing philanthropic support for U.
S. athletes is one of the USOPC's highest strategic priorities. Hence, the organization has established the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation (USOPF) as the fundraising organization for the USOPC and is investing significant resources in its Development division.
The Foundation's events team within the USOPC is charged with curating diverse in-person experiences tailored for current and prospective donors.
The primary objective is to deepen their connection with the tangible impact of their contributions, particularly emphasizing the stories of America's Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Reporting directly to the Events Manager, the Assistant, USOPF Events will be crucial in delivering these experiences, engaging with internal stakeholders to ensure timely project deliverables, and assisting in executing the Team USA domestic event activation strategy.
Here's how you'll have an impact :
- Collaborate with the events team to assist with all logistics support needs. USOPF events support includes research and development of athlete contracts for donor engagement at events, meeting notes, building and managing project timelines, proofreading, scheduling athlete and staff travel, gifting, shipping, and other necessary tasks.
- Create and maintain calendars of upcoming events.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on event registration, RSVPs, and attendance.
- Provide technical support to the events team and internal departments on the ground during events. Travel may be required.
- Gift processing and mail processing as needed.
- Assist additional team members in Annual Fund and Stewardship teams, as requested.
Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective :
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program at the junior or senior level status or, enrolled in a Master's degree program, or graduated within the past six months with equivalent work experience
- Some professional work experience is preferred
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Flexibility and agility to support multiple department priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience using Salesforce a plus
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Creative, energetic self-starter with good interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment
