Job Description : The U.S. Parachute Association is searching for an individual to fill the position immediately. The Associate Editor reports to USPA's Director of Communications. This position serves several different but related functions. Must have excellent writing and editing skills. Must be able to multi-task and believe in providing excellent customer service. Must be able to initiate and build relationships with authors, photographers, parachute equipment manufacturers and other industry providers. This position offers excellent opportunities for advancement in the department.

FLSA Status: Exempt
Department: Communications
Location: Onsite at USPA Headquarters in Fredericksburg, Virginia
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Write print and digital content for Parachutist magazine, USPA websites and other USPA materials
- Perform copy editing and proofreading of own content and content of others
- Coordinate with graphic designer and secure production of USPA print materials requested by departments
- Maintain relationships with vendors that handle USPA products for sale (manuals, etc.), provide stock, collect payment and maintain accounts
- Develop in-house advertising for USPA (Safety Day, USPA Nationals, etc.)
- Assist with USPA’s print and digital advertising program, build relationships and maintain contacts with industry owners and sales representatives
Qualifications:
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Education/Experience:
- 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in English, journalism, advertising or related field
- Competent with the Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office software suite. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
